Hi. I’m Teresa. What do you need to know about me besides that I am a photographer and I like taking pictures? I teach high school English, and I became a photographer because of my background in journalism. You’ll see that my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments.
What else? I love reading and writing. (Yes, I have a “I am silently correcting your grammar” shirt.) I am a mommy to three miracle children…two with fertility help and one that was a pure miracle. I have known my husband since just before my 18th birthday, but we didn’t date until almost 10 years later. He flies helicopters…it’s pretty bad ass. I love red wines like cabs and chianti, and I love dark chocolate. I rescued two Australian shepherds, Darcy and Scout. They’re getting old and that makes me sad. (And yes, Darcy is named after Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, and Scout is named after Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird. They are two of my favorite books. See earlier note about my other job.) I love decorating my home and making it more and more “home” after moving all over the country with my husband.
Oh, and I like taking pictures. I like playing with technology. I am an extroverted introvert or introverted extrovert (not sure which), so I love getting to know families as I capture their images, but I hate being at a big party.
I do more than just take pictures. I also do web design for small businesses, where I get to use some of my tech skills. I also dabble in instructional technology. I am a “techy teacher” at school, and I feel absolutely lucky that I get to do two jobs I love, capturing memories and teaching high schools boys. (See my educational consulting website The Techy Teacher if you want to keep up with my teaching life!)
My work has been featured on several websites and in numerous Etsy shops.

“Photography lets me capture important moments in the lives of so many people so that they have that instant frozen forever. It is such a gift for many; after my dad died, those pictures that we had of me with him became my most prized possessions. My hope is that I can give my clients some of those images that will one day turn into family heirlooms.”
