Giveaway with Kidorable: Get your kiddo ready for spring!

Anyone who has looked at my blog or even my Facebook and Instagram feeds knows that two of my three kiddos are brand ambassadors for Kidorable. This means that Kidorable has outfitted my kids now with awesome rain coats, boots, scarves, hats, and mittens, and I’ve been lucky enough to have my photography featured on their social media feeds and in their e-mails to their mailing list! It’s been a great way to get quality seasonal gear without spending a penny!

Here’s Emma with some of the gear that Kidorable gave us last summer! This is the butterfly set!

I knew about Kidorable first, though, because I had been a customer. I first learned about Kidorable right after I had my oldest kiddo. I was watching Good Morning America, and each week, they had a day where they featured awesome deals. Kidorable was one of the featured products that they raved about, and so I bought two super cute umbrellas. I bought my oldest the Lady Bug umbrella. I hoped that I was going to be lucky enough to overcome my infertility problems a second time, so I bought a frog, too…thinking that would work for a girl or boy!

Last summer, right after I had started TCJ Design, I entered my oldest two kids in the brand ambassador search, and I was floored when both were chosen. (They only chose six kids!) Kidorable has been so very complimentary of my photography, so I jumped at the chance when they offered to let me give something away to my awesome clients and followers!

I started out my Kidorable collection with an umbrella from Kidorable, and now you have your chance, too, to win your very own for your kiddo! This is perfect with spring right around the corner! You can get your very own pictures of your kid holding it while splashing in puddles.

It’s easy to be entered in the contest. All you have to do is tell me your favorite spring memory! Share that in the comment section below AND click where it says “Leave a Blog Post Comment” and then check “I commented” under “Kidorable Umbrella of Your Choice”, and you will be entered to win an Kidorable umbrella!

(There are two bonus ways to enter, too…all you have to do for those is open my Facebook page by clicking the link and saying you did [side note: if you’d like my page, I’d love it, but I can’t require you to like or comment on Facebook] AND entering your e-mail address to be added to my newsletter.)

The winner will be chosen at random and notified via email and have 48 hours to respond before new winner is chosen.  By entering you are agreeing to my official giveaway rules. Giveaway ends 11:59 pm EST March 2nd, 2017.

Thanks so much to Cheryl at http://www.thatswhatchesaid.net/ for her help mentoring me during my first giveaway! Go give her blog some love!!

  • My favorite spring memory is my engagement. It was Saturday, the day before Easter, and it was a gorgeous, sunny, cherry blossom day. My boyfriend wanted to drive into D.C. with me and he took me to the botanical gardens. As we walked from spot to spot I could see he was getting frustrated, wanting to move along. He had wanted a secluded nice area to propose, without all the noise but our visit was not how he’d envisioned. We ended up leaving the garden area and walked in front of the Capitol, and when we got to the Peace Circle monument he stopped suddenly and I saw a plastic green Easter egg.
He asked, “What’s that?” prodding me to open it. There was a ring box inside. When I opened it he had removed his glasses and was on his knee, wincing in the sun, saying something about love and to please marry him.
I gave it a few moments and even asked him, “Really?” He had a big nervous smile on. The love and moment were overwhelming. However, I did say yes! We didn’t notice until then that bystanders had politely stopped to witness all this and they clapped when I accepted and we embraced.
(The ring is gorgeous by the way…he designed it himself with his birthstones in the color of my birthstones on the sides of the diamond)

  • I have a few favorite spring memories…. If I had to pick only one it would be back during my school aged days. Every spring when I would visit my grandmother we would take a long walk to go pick wild flowers and talk about anything and everything along the way. I looked forward to it and wish my children had the chance to meet her.

WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PEOPLE WHO want their story told

Hi. I’m Teresa. While photography is a part-time job for me, documenting your stories doesn’t ever get treated like it’s not important. My full-time gig is teaching high school English, journalism, and photography at an all-boys’ school in Washington, DC. Journalism is my favorite subject to teach because it is as much about writing as it is about the art of observing the world, and I became a photographer because of my experiences in photojournalism.

You’ll see in galleries with my families, children, newborns, or weddings, my style definitely is more about documenting connection and trying to create real moments. I love a good portrait, but my heart is happiest when I get real smiles from people loving on and playing with each other.
